We set off early on the last day of our 3-week trip with the intention of having a picnic at Central Park.
First stop: Ladurée to grab some macrons.
Headed over to Central Park and was greeted with a dancing mob, who were performing for some television show. Did I mention how much I love American telly? :P
Sun-frolickers. We decided that it was wayyyyy too hot that day (the weather suddenly turned for the worse - cold one day and super hot the next). So we retreated to.....
Shake Shack!
Our air-conditioned "picnic". Haha.
After lunch, we rushed to do some last minute shopping up fifth avenue, and then decided to head up to the Top of the Rock. We reckoned the best time to do so was the period just before sunset, because you will get the day and night view - two views for the price of one!
If you were to choose between going up the Empire State or the Rockefeller, I would recommend the latter if you had to choose one. Because you get to see the Empire State building, Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty all in one view. (The statue can't be seen here in this picture but if you zoomed in more you could!)
Central park, I had no idea it was so huge, and I can't believe I thought we could explore most of it.
Happy faces, because I actually checked my results while up there (using their free wifi). I was literally and metaphorically at the top of the world knowing that I had officially graduated from NTU, and also obtained the honor class I was aiming for. (: I still remember how 6 years ago, while I was struggling in JC, at the very bottom. And here I am finally pulling through after all.
Breath-taking and surreal sunset.
NYC I will surely be back for you!
