USA Trip Day 4: Hershey's Chocolate World

Woke up bright and early for a heart American breakfast after a good night's rest at Washington D.C. Marriott, which in my opinion was the best hotel for the entire trip. Too bad we only stayed there for one night :'( The only plans for the day was Hershey's Chocolate World, which meant we'll spend the rest of the day on the bus.

That's the thing about being on tour, you spend a lot of time traveling from one destination to the next. So jetlag plus lots of time spent on the road = dreadful!

We took about 2 hours to get to Hershey's Chocolate World!

I posted this on Instagram with a caption "Chocolate makes you do retarded things." Which sure is true! Haha.

So Hershey's Chocolate World is like a typical destination for most tourists, because it serves as a pitstop / attraction / lunch break / place to buy souvenirs all in one. The whole big area is owned by Hershey's and they have a theme park there also. But since it's winter the theme park wasn't opened.

There were plenty of things to do inside the Hershey's factory, like 3D shows and what not. But we went on a ride that brought us into the "factory" and showed us how Hershey's chocolate are made.

And of course, we went shopping for goodies afterwards. Parents with their choices! I didn't buy much for myself, cos firstly chocolates were heavy to bring back, and I guess also cos Hershey's is widely available in Singapore especially since now they have their own specialty stores. I did however grab some Hershey's kisses with unique flavors like Candy Cane and Mint Truffle.

The dining area. Was still so stuffed from breakfast and couldn't eat much.

My favorite drink! I'm a big big fan of green tea and I would say I love Arizona! Didn't bring any back to Singapore though, even though I really wanted to!Was so delighted to find this when I went to the Philippines. Brought a couple bottles back!

So fast forward a gruesome 4 hour drive to our final destination of the day - Niagara Falls.

We ended up at Terrapin Point after a quick dinner stop to check out the night view of Niagara Falls. The main view was actually of the opposite side, the Canada side of Niagara! For those who don't know, Niagara separates Canada and the USA. The causeway bridge between them is called Rainbow Bridge, because rainbows often appear over the Falls. So the US side was pretty much like a dead town, while the Canadian side was bustling with activity and lights. Can't wait to visit the Canada side one day!
